Another comic for the week! Lately, there has been some problems with my host, so there was some down time. The good thing about it is that it had been resolved, and I even managed to get some additional credit for the down time.
In this comic, Risa and Shu are just about to have breakfast when Shu says his thanks in Japanese. Risa is a bit clueless as to what he said in particular. A lot of people would assume that he was just saying something along the lines of saying grace before a meal. It’s one of the closest things the English language has to it.
When Shuhei was here in Canada, it was sometimes common to hear him say this before having meals. Even after meals, he would say something else which would give meals a closure. For me and my friends, it wasn’t out of the ordinary, but I can imagine it catching an unaware person off-guard at first, like Risa for example. To think that Risa had never learned any of these behaviors from her parents…
