One more comic for the week! Yogurt and Berry have arrived just in time to have lunch under the cherry blossoms at the picnic! It is calm and relaxing, with lots of snacks and drinks to around. While they are blissfully have their lunch, Risa brings up a little bit about herself. She used to travel back to Japan to visit family for the spring season back when she was a lot younger. During those visits, Risa and her family would often go on picnics and viewing the sakura that are blooming at the time. Yogurt, as curious as she is, asks Risa if she ever plans on going back to Japan again. Risa, a little dumbfounded by the thought, wonders exactly why she hasn’t gone back sooner…

As you might recall from past comics, Risa is a second generation Japanese-Canadian. There were some comics in the past that even had Shu, Risa’s cousin from Japan, come to Canada to visit her. The sight of the cherry blossoms reminds me of the fact that Risa has a family over in Japan. I think it would be nice for her to go back at some point. Being a lot older now means that she’ll get to see her family’s home country with a more mature and renewed outlook. I’m certain there are a few of us who have gone back home to our own family’s countries, or perhaps one day will.
