I got a new comic to share! Yogurt and Berry are now at the pool getting ready to do some warm-up laps. However, Yogurt notices that Berry is wading in a shallower lane. She tries to get him over to her lane so that they can share her lane, but Berry refuses, as he prefers the lane where he can easily stand up on the pool floor. Not that Yogurt’s lane is any deeper..

So far my Krita transition journey has been fun so far. I managed to finish a full colored illustration with it, albeit with some fanart of gyaru Bulbasaur. It’s a very versatile art program that can do almost everything I needed to do. One thing that I really liked as I was using it was just how impressive the brush engines are in Krita. There is just so much more flexibility in the engines than I had previously thought. I’m looking forward to the release of Krita 6 later this year, as that will be when the improved text tools will be out for the stable version. I believe that by then, I will be fully utilizing Krita for my creative workflow.

I do admit that I will miss Clip Studio Paint, especially since it’s been the backbone of my creative workflow since ~2013-2014 or so. Of course, back then, it was called Manga Studio 5. However, the circumstances created in my shift to using Linux has forced my hand to adapt, and I have doubts that Celsys will be willing to support linux. Either way, the decision to use Krita has ultimately been a liberating one, and may soon prove to pay itself off a lot sooner than I thought.
